Zero-Click Search

/ˈzɪə.roʊ klɪk sɜːrtʃ/ noun

A search where the user's query is answered directly on the results page — in a Featured Snippet, AI Overview, Knowledge Panel, or People Also Ask box — without the user clicking through to any website. Zero-click searches represent a growing share of all queries. AEO optimisation strategies are specifically designed to win zero-click visibility — being the cited source in the answer even when no click occurs.
