Glossary Definition

hreflang

/ˌeɪtʃ.rɛl.ˈlæŋ/ noun

An HTML attribute that tells Google which language and regional audience a specific page is intended for, enabling the correct version of content to be served to users in different countries. Essential for international SEO — without hreflang, Google defaults content to the geography of your strongest traffic signals, typically the US for early-stage SaaS products.
